San Diegans for Open Government v. City of San Diego (Todd Gloria) (2013)

San Diegans for Open Government v. City of San Diego (Todd Gloria) (2013)

Reason for Suing: San Diegans for Open Government (SDOG) made a California Public Records Act request for certain records involving City Council President Todd Gloria.  SDOG sued after it received no response.  Shortly after the lawsuit was filed, Mr. Gloria sent a back-dated response to SDOG and claimed that SDOG had not adequately identified the requested records.

Outcome: The City agreed to have a judgment entered against it, admitting that Mr. Gloria had wrongfully withheld more than 1,500 pages of responsive records.

Documents: Superior Court Judgment.
