Chollas Restoration, Enhancement, and Conservancy etc. v. City of San Diego (2008)

Reason for Suing: Chollas Restoration, Enhancement, and Conservancy etc. (CREAC) sued the City of San Diego because it approved a park in City Heights that was in the middle of a flood plain, without complying with the California Environmental Quality Act.  CREAC was concerned about environmental-justice issues associated with turning a hazard-prone site into a park in a low-income community.

Outcome: CREAC won.
